Established in 1996, in Sudbury, Ontario, HARD-LINE is a leading supplier of automation, teleoperation, and remote-control technology specialized in the mining industry. HARD-LINE develops innovative products from the ground up, using years of experience in mining, electronics, electrical and mechanical design. Our remote-control systems allow operations through direct/extended line of sight, or teleoperation; while increasing worker safety, continuous production and mine profitability. No matter what type, make or model of machinery, HARD-LINE can configure it to operate remotely.

Walter Siggelkow is the President and founder of HARD-LINE. Walter has 30 years of experience in the mining industry and has consistently challenged conventional thinking and methods dedicated to continuous improvement. A heavy equipment mechanic by trade, Walter’s passion for innovation and teamwork is evident, growing a small start up company to a multinational enterprise devoted to Hard-Line’s mission to enable the ultimate in safety and enhanced productivity and vision to revolutionize industry.
RYAN SIGGELKOW
SENIOR DIRECTOR, HARD-LINE
Ryan Siggelkow is the Senior Vice President of Technology and is responsible for researching, planning, and the implementation of new programs and overseeing the development of our latest technology. Ryan assures competitiveness and innovation of products and programs from a technological and design standpoint, ensuring profitability, quality, and continuous improvement. As a member of the senior executive team, Ryan plays a key role in the development of long-term corporate strategies to facilitate sustainable growth of the company and in fostering a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company. He is a determined and client focused IT leader with extensive global experience, including expertise in automation, mining, ERP, analytics, and operational excellence initiatives. His strength lies in the ability to apply his 20 years of knowledge to a tailored solution addressing each client’s business and technology objectives.
FRANCE DUBOIS HNATIUK
DIRECTOR, HARD-LINE
France Dubois Hnatiuk, Vice President of Operations, provides leadership to HARD-LINE’s operations globally. With more than 20 years of experience in finance and operations in the mining industry and 15 years in senior management, France empowers progressive teams with strong guiding principles of accountability, transparency, and diversity. Her proficiency in analyzing and streamlining internal processes and strategies equips France to successfully identify and capture new opportunities to accelerate expansion and increase productivity.
CHAD RHUDE
DIRECTOR, HARD-LINE
With 20 years of experience in the industry, Chad Rhude leads HARD-LINE’s operations in the U.S.A. as vice president of U.S.A. operations. Chad specializes in remote control and automation systems for mobile equipment. He works with clients to maximize efficiency while maintaining a dedication to safety by tailoring implementation plans to ensure a safe and easy transition when adopting new technology. Chad’s experience spans across most areas of the business, from product development, customer service, and operations; this unique background compliments Chad’s ability to see the big picture and how to most effectively respond to the challenges clients face.
PHIL PELLAND
DIRECTOR, HARD-LINE
With forty years of experience in mining, Phil Pelland’s extensive knowledge in the field allows him to work in multiple roles over different departments at HARD-LINE. Phil started as a miner when he was 18, working at the Denison Mine in Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada for 13 years. Once that uranium mine closed, Phil attended Sault College (in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario) where he graduated with diplomas in Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering. Following post-secondary, he worked as a Field Technician and Shop Supervisor specializing in the installation and use of mining technology such as radio remote controls and leaky feeder communication systems. In 2003, Phil joined HARD-LINE and started by working in similar roles and was an instrumental member of the Research and Design team helping to develop some of the company’s flagship products. He proudly takes on the VP of Sales role but still thoroughly enjoys the hands-on elements of the business.
